Frozen Chocolate Custard with Peanut Butter Ripple

Guys, this frozen custard was so delicious!! Super creamy with a rich chocolate taste, marbled with just the right amount of peanut butter.  This is not a No-Churn recipe, so you'll need an ice cream mixer but it's totally worth it.  I was sneaking bites of it right and left while it was churning- I couldn't help myself! It's every bit as good as the stuff you get at Culver's!  I have a feeling we're going to be making this a TON this Summer! Frozen Chocolate Custard with Peanut Butter Ripple yield: 1 quart Ingredients: 4 egg yolks 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 cup whole milk 1 cup heavy whipping cream 1 TBSP Pure Vanilla Extract 1 cup Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate chips 1/4 cup Cocoa Powder 1/2 cup peanut butter Dash of salt Directions: Add egg yolks, sugar, salt, and Cocoa Powder to a medium saucepan and whisk until fluffy and well combined. Whisk in the milk.  Cook, whisking frequently over Medium-Low heat until it reaches 165º F, but do not allow it to come to a b...

No-Churn Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

I have always loved Strawberry and Raspberry Cheesecake Ice Cream, but was craving it in a big way after going to the BYU Creamery specifically for a scoop of that deliciousness only to have them not be serving it that day.  I decided to just make some of my own and started looking for a recipe.  This ice cream is smooth and creamy and so easy! And of course, super yummy :).  You don't even need an ice cream maker for this.  The original recipe called for graham cracker pieces, but I thought Golden Oreos would be even better!

Strawberry Coconut Ice Cream

School might be in session but temps are still in the 90's.  As much as I wish it was Fall, Summer is still here, and in that spirit here is a delightfully different type of homemade ice "cream".  This is made with coconut milk in place of milk and cream which might sound a little odd but it works! The base was still creamy and delicious but had a mild taste of coconut which went great with the strawberries.  It froze a little harder than traditional ice cream, but  I found a few seconds in the microwave helped it get to a nice consistency.

Milk Chocolate Ice Cream with Brownie Bits

Mmm, mmm, mmm, Mmm, mmm, mmm. This ice cream is good! I shared this with some of my family after a hot dog roast, and my Brother-In-Law, bless his heart, thought that this was some kind of gourmet store-bought ice cream :) Not that I blame him, homemade ice cream is the best! I need to take this moment to thank my brother who was kind enough to lend me his ice cream maker for the summer while he's off in California. Really, thank you! Just don't be surprised if I decide not to give it back :) Anyway, back to the ice cream. I've made this chocolate treat twice now and have loved it both times.

Lemon Ice

I made this refreshing little treat last night and was pleasantly surprised with the results.  It was slightly sweet, tangy, and creamy.  That's right!  Creamy!  It has no cream or dairy products in it, so I really wasn't expecting the sweet creaminess, but I certainly didn't complain :) I loved that this treat has no fat in it.  Then again, I just plain love it!

Double Cookie Dough Ice Cream

Who doesn't love cookie dough?  I for one am an ardent cookie dough lover.  I can't resist tasting it when making chocolate chip cookies, but always have a slight nagging worry about salmonella.  It hasn't been enough to stop me, but still...wouldn't it be better if you could have the goodness of cookie dough without the raw eggs? Enter, Double Cookie Dough Ice Cream.  I have to admit, this was never one of my favorite kinds to purchase, but it looked so delicious, and as we've already established, homemade is WAY better than store-bought,

Dreamy Creamy Strawberry Ice Cream.

Please forgive my photography skills, or the lack thereof.  I wish I could have taken a picture that would have done this justice. That being said, this ice cream is AMAZING!  So much better than store-bought.  I'm normally a chocolate kind of girl, but this strawberry has taken the #1 spot in my heart.  I could eat it everyday, which is why I've had to exercise some serious self-control. Homemade ice cream may seem daunting but it is so simple!  Really!  Try it out sometime, if you haven't already, but be forewarned...you may never have a desire to buy store-bought ice cream again.
