S’mores Bars

These bars are fantastic!! S'mores bars have all the flavors of a classic S'more with a graham cracker base, marshmallows, and chocolate that we all love, but you don't need to go make a fire to enjoy one of these yummy treats!  I brought these bars to a ward party and every last one got eaten before the surrounding treats were gone.  Good thing I saved a few for us to enjoy later!  Kinda wish I'd saved a few more though ;).  Homemade marshmallow creme gave these bars a huge upgrade so if you have a few minutes to make your own, do it! You will NOT regret it. Besides being a ton easier to spread around the taste is so much better than store-bought.  I'll take these bars any day over regular old s'mores!

Caramelitas

Ooey, gooey deliciousness is what these bars are made of! They're basically two layers of a buttery oatmeal cookie sandwiched with loads of caramel and chocolate.  So good, and so rich! They are divine with a scoop of vanilla ice cream but are absolutely dreamy by themselves with a nice cold glass of milk as well.  They cut best when cool, but if you want to just scoop them into your bowl right out of the oven, I won't judge.  In fact, that's what typically happens at our house.  We just can't wait to dig in!

“Scotcheroo” Peanut Butter Bars

Have you ever had a Scotcheroo?  They're like an extra delicious Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treat with a topping made of Butterscotch and Chocolate Chips.  I'll have to post a recipe for those someday, but these Scotcheroo Peanut Butter Bars are every bit as delicious! Basically they are like a chewy and delicious Peanut Butter Cookie topped with a smooth and Creamy Chocolate Butterscotch layer.  Dangerously addicting, these flavors were just made for each other!  Funny story- when I made these I intentionally saved out the middle row to take pictures of the following day.  When I went to grab them, I realized one of them was missing and turned to find Brynlee munching away on one! Guess I should have made my intentions clear, but it just goes to show that they couldn't be left alone!

White Chocolate Caramel Pretzel Churro Bars

Guys, you NEED to try these bars! They are the perfect balance of sweet, salty, chewy, and crunchy. The Cinnamon Sugar sprinkled over the top adds a nice warm spiciness to the whole thing making for a very satisfying bite. So scrumptious without being overly sweet!  If that didn't quite convince you, how about the fact that they are SUPER easy to make.  Perfect for when you don't have an hour or two to spend in the kitchen. I love how these White Chocolate Caramel Churro Bars turned out!! One of my new favorite treats for Christmas or anytime!

Pecan Pie Blondies

You have got to try these blondies! They are seriously Heaven on Earth.  The pecan layer just melts into the blondies for a sweet, nutty, decadent treat.  I had a hard time reigning in my self control with these. They are definitely a keeper and the perfect treat for this time or year. The original recipe has a chocolate drizzle on top so if that sounds good to you, go for it.  I thought they were plenty rich without.

No-Bake Peanut Butter Bars

A while back I saw this recipe on Facebook and immediately saved it.  I try not to make something in this quantity unless I'm going to have someone to share it with and the opportunity presented itself at a BBQ recently. These were so yummy!  Brynlee has been begging me to make them again before too long. Given the fact that they were delicious I'm sure they will be in our bellies again soon. I've had no-bake peanut butter bars before, but never with crushed Nilla Wafers in them.  I've gotta say, it was an excellent addition.

Lunch Lady Brownies

I think this pictures says it all!  I have looked so long for  a brownie recipe that will meet the "Mike" approval.  When it comes to brownies, he likes them "fudge like" not "cake like." When I saw this picture, I saw fudge like, so I had to give it a try.  Man was I happy I did.  These were "fudge like," full of vanilla flavor and just plain divine.  I love a good brownie hot out of the oven.  This recipe is a keeper for sure.  If you have a picky brownie eater like I do, give this recipe a try.        I did not try the frosting for this recipe, I cut up the brownies and layered them with fresh whipped cream and diced strawberries, yum. See what new recipe you can come up with to use these brownies for.       Happy Baking!

Chex Scotcheroos

I figured we needed an un-healthy treat to follow the healthy one.  Gotta keep things in balance you know?  Okay, okay, so we are way unbalanced on the sweets side.  At least these are Gluten-Free.  That counts for something, right?  Anyway, unhealthy or not, these little babies are downright delicious.  Chewy and chocolaty with a hint of butterscotch and peanut butter.  It was hard to only eat my share and then send the rest of the pan to work with Aaron.  Yes, it was painful but it needed to be done.  Otherwise I would have eaten WAY more than my share!  Now I'm thinking I need to make these again.  As soon as possible. Chex Scotcheroos from Yammies Gluten Freedom 6 cups Rice or Corn Chex (Gluten-free Rice Krispies would probably be good too) 1 cup light corn syrup 1 cup sugar 1 1/2 cups peanut butter 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips 2 cups butterscotch chips *(sometimes these have hidden gluten in the form of barley, so ...

Triple Chip Blondies

I needed an easy and delicious recipe to bring to a family gathering last week and I went browsing blogs to find the perfect recipe.  These caught my eye and did not disappoint.  Everyone was wowed by them!  Definitely the best Blondies I've ever had.  Perfectly chewy and packed with Milk Chocolate, White Chocolate, and Butterscotch chips.  So yummy!

Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars

I forgot to take a picture of these wonderful treats, so I borrowed the one from melskitchen!  These have a been a hit every time I make them.  I have made them with and without nuts, but have found I like them better with the nuts!  These are a great treat to bring to a neighborhood party, potluck or the church social.  They say to let them cool, but I always sneak a piece while they are warm!  Enjoy, we did! Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars from melskitchen cafe 2 1/3 cup flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 2/3 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup butter, soft 2 eggs, slightly beaten 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts (optional) 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 package toffee bits, divided Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9X13-inch pan with aluminum foil and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt and brown sugar. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender or fork until the mixt...

Caramel Crunch Bars

With each healthy meal I post, I need to share non healthy, fattening dessert to go with it!  We haven't been doing much with desserts lately, but I made this for a picnic we were invited to last weekend.  I have had this recipe for a long time, but never really had the interest in making them.  That was a big mistake!

Sweet & Salty Cookie Bars

I needed a quick treat this weekend and came across this yummy treat! It was very easy to make and tasted divine. My only suggestion is to let it cool completely before trying to cut it. Once cooled, the bars cut nicely and retain their shape, other wise you get a hot pile of cookie dough! Which by the way is yummy as well!

Lemon Squares
