Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars

I forgot to take a picture of these wonderful treats, so I borrowed the one from melskitchen!  These have a been a hit every time I make them.  I have made them with and without nuts, but have found I like them better with the nuts!  These are a great treat to bring to a neighborhood party, potluck or the church social.  They say to let them cool, but I always sneak a piece while they are warm!  Enjoy, we did! Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars from melskitchen cafe 2 1/3 cup flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 2/3 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup butter, soft 2 eggs, slightly beaten 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts (optional) 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 package toffee bits, divided Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9X13-inch pan with aluminum foil and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt and brown sugar. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender or fork until the mixture is crumbly. Add eggs

Butternut Bisque

With summer going and cool weather just around the corner, I have been in the mood for soup and warm bread.  All of my kids really love butternut squash, so I thought this soup would be perfect.  Jeremy LOVED this soup!  He ate two bowls and had some for lunch the next day.

Ginger Cookies

Today is one of those cold, rainy, snow in the mountains, winter is coming kind of a day.  What better way cure the dreary day blues, than baking ?  It seemed like a perfect opportunity to try these ginger cookies.  Brynlee had a great time rolling the dough into balls and in the sugar.  Such a fun Mommy and daughter activity :)  Perfectly spiced, crispy on the outside, and chewy in the inside.  The smell of them baking them in the oven is intoxicating and the taste-irresistible!
