Chocolate Marshmallow Fondue

Happy Valentine's Day!   I had a little panic attack when I thought I had lost this recipe.  I made this last year for dessert and the kids loved the treat as well as the idea.  We always eat by candle light in the dining room so this just added to the mood.  I serve this with brownies, strawberries, marshmallows,  bananas, pineapple and a new one addition this year, potato chips!  I have read many great reviews so why not give it a try, it is a holiday!

Chocolate Sugar Cookies

Valentines Day is coming up and as we always do, Brynlee and I made sugar cookies. While sugar cookies are fun to decorate, I'll admit that I've never been that big of a fan of the cookie itself. We'll choose chocolate any day over vanilla! That's why these cookies are so perfect- they can still be cut out, decorated and hold their shape perfectly, but have a rich chocolate flavor. We love these cookies! Frost them any way you like (I prefer cream cheese frosting) or just eat them plain. Happy Valentines Day!

Candy Cane Kiss Cookies

These cookies are delicious!  I made them to bring to some friends but couldn't resist keeping some for myself.  I love the chocolate/minty combo so I had high hopes for these and I wasn't disappointed.  The base of the cookie is fudgy and loaded with melty chocolate chips.  Topped with a Candy Cane Kiss and you have perfection!  If you haven't already, try these out this Christmas season.  Seriously, so good!

Corn and Cheese Chowder

After a beautiful fall Sunday, we have been slapped into winter with snow and 15 degree temperatures. Nothing like a easing us into winter! So what better way to enjoy such a cold day than with a warm bowl of soup and hot bread from the oven. Mike loves corn chowder, but I am NOT a fan, but this recipe I really like, and have made more than once. My kids even ask for this when I suggest soup for dinner.  Super easy to make and it hits just the right spot of these cold snowy days!  Enjoy.

Pumpkin Pie Protein Smoothie

Are you guys sick of pumpkin recipes yet?  Me neither!  It seems there are a plethora of sweet recipes made from pumpkin around this time of year, which all look amazing, but sometimes I need something healthy and good for you too.  Know what I mean?  This was a great smoothie!  Lots of protein to keep you full and a delicious pumpkin flavor.  I wouldn't say it tastes exactly like pumpkin pie because lets be honest, it wouldn't be healthy if it did.  Still, it had the flavors of pumpkin and cinnamon that I love at this time of year and it kept me full for hours!  We'll make this again for sure!

Nutter Butter Mummies

Halloween is almost here!  Brynlee  (my 6 year old) and I wanted to make a fun food craft and these are what we came up with.  Nothing complicated- just easy, fun, and cute.  I've seen these done with oreo's as well but we liked the shape of the Nutter Butter's better.  As I mentioned before, they were very easy to make!  Brynlee dipped the cookies in the chocolate, I did the eyes, and we both took turns drizzling the chocolate.

Caesar Salad

This recipe is a find of my sister Abbie!    People always ask me where I get good recipes. My answer is from other people.  Many times my family just hides there head when I go up to strangers who have made something for school or an event I am at and ask for the recipe.  Some of my best recipes have come from those experiences. People have some great recipes, don't be afraid to ask for them. Anyway, this recipe my sister found and it has become a family favorite of my mom, brother and of course my sister.  It is so simple to make, yet is so yummy.  My kids fight over who's turn it is to make it when we have it for dinner.  I love to serve this with a hot plate of spaghetti and warm french bread.  But it is also good for lunch by itself! Enjoy!!
