Milk Chocolate Ice Cream with Brownie Bits

Mmm, mmm, mmm, Mmm, mmm, mmm. This ice cream is good! I shared this with some of my family after a hot dog roast, and my Brother-In-Law, bless his heart, thought that this was some kind of gourmet store-bought ice cream :) Not that I blame him, homemade ice cream is the best! I need to take this moment to thank my brother who was kind enough to lend me his ice cream maker for the summer while he's off in California. Really, thank you! Just don't be surprised if I decide not to give it back :) Anyway, back to the ice cream. I've made this chocolate treat twice now and have loved it both times.
I did change up the brownies the second time though and replaced them with the brownies from my previous post.  Perfection!  A creamy, dreamy milk chocolate ice cream with rich chewy brownie bites.  Doesn't get any better than this!

Milk Chocolate Ice Cream with Brownie Bits
from Annies-Eats

Ingredients:
For the ice cream

8 oz. milk chocolate (at least 30% cacao solids), finely chopped
1½ cups heavy cream
1½ cups whole milk
¾ cup sugar
Pinch of salt
4 large egg yolks

For the Brownies:
Follow the link to make the Chewy, Fudgy Triple Chocolate Brownies

Using one third of the brownies, cut them into squares to remove them, then cut them into small chunks. Set aside until the ice cream is finished.

Cover and chill the mixture thoroughly in the refrigerator. Freeze the batter in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions. Once frozen, fold in the brownie bits with a spatula. Transfer to an airtight container and freeze until ready to serve.

* If you want to firm it up in a hurry, try leaving it in the frozen bowl and placing that in the freezer until ready to serve. Transfer to an airtight container if you are wanting to save it for several days.

Bakery style Strawberry Muffins

New recipe! Can you even believe it?! Kirsti and I decided we need to get back in the habit of sharing our favorite recipes by sharing at least one a month so here you go:   I’m starting off with these scrumptious strawberry muffins. Extra large and fluffy, these muffins are bursting with strawberry bits and topped with the most delicious strawberry glaze. If you end up with extra glaze, go ahead and drizzle some extra.  No judgement here :)   Even if you already love the previous strawberry muffins on our blog, you need to try these- they are the only ones I'll be making from here on out.  They're that good!

Chocolate Covered Cream Balls

Several years ago, I sampled a Milk Chocolate Coconut at See's Candies.  It was love at first bite.  Ever since then I have made a mandatory stop every time I went into the mall to get one of these delicious chocolates.  I love them so much !  However, there are two things I didn't like about them.  1) I had to go to the mall to get them, and 2) they are SO expensive.  I think the last time I was there I paid about 75 cents for 1 chocolate.

Bread Twists

These are my new go-to bread sticks for two reasons - taste and time. They have a wonderful buttery/garlic flavor and the kosher salt adds a delightful savory crunch.  The other thing I love about these is how quickly they come together.  It only takes one hour from start to finish.  One hour!  That's almost unheard of for a yeast bread.  Try these out next time you want some bread with your dinner but are short on time.
